how to - DIY wrap bracelet

Photo taken from Honestly...WTF

My friend, Rebekah, sent me this link on how to make an extremely cute wrap bracelet. I told her we needed to make them immediately, so I went out to buy all the supplies. I bought the crystal chain and waxed linen cord from Michael's Craft Store. The hex nut from Home Depot and the leather cord from Ornamentea.

- Supplies -
What you'll need:
  • 44-55 inches* of 1.5mm leather cord
  • 12-15 inches* of crystal chain or ball chain
  • 58-72 inches* of waxed linen cord
  • a 1/4 inch hex nut
  • scissors
*Lengths will vary depending on the size of your wrist.

Make a loop out of the leather cord. Make sure the loop is big enough to fit around the hex nut, as this serves as the clasp for the bracelet.
Run the tip of the waxed linen upwards along the leather cord and towards the loop. Then wrap around the base of the loop at least 5-6 times, working downwards in the opposite direction. This secures the waxed linen cord and is the start of the bracelet.
Place the crystal chain (or ball chain) along the leather cord. Wrap the waxed linen cord tightly around the crystal chain.
Continue wrapping the linen cord around the crystal chain. Be sure to check every so often for fit around your wrist.
When you reach the end, wrap the linen cord 4-5 more times. This is the end of your bracelet.
Tie a knot with all three strings.
Thread the hex nut through and tie another knot.
And you're done! This bracelet is really addicting to make and there are tons of different variations. It was super easy and didn't take long at all once you get the rhythm down. Check out Ornamentea for all your supplies. They have great colors of string and crystal chain. I will definitely be making these for all my friends!
